SparkFun Closed Today - July 4th

SparkFun offices will be closed for Independence Day.

Favorited Favorite 0

This is just a friendly reminder that the SparkFun offices will be closed today, July 4th, for the Independence Day. You can still order as usual, but orders will not ship until tomorrow (July 5th). "According to Pete" will also post tomorrow!

Nothing says "patriot" like an American flag/cat window cling.

We hope you all have a great holiday (or a great regular ol' Monday)! If you are somewhere besides the US, you can use the 4th of July as an excuse to eat copious amounts of grilled meat, drink beer soda, and set off fireworks. Cheers!

I think it's hilarious how SFE always makes remarks about wanting beer, when there are some pretty young kids coming on here. Whatevs...

      It's just beer.... :)

Friends don't let friends solder drunk.

Unfortunately, most of my friends don't know what soldering is, or the dangers of me doing so while intoxicated until after i'm rinsing my burns in the sink.

I'm kind of curious about this statement. We don't in any way condone underage drinking, but we don't see anything wrong about enjoying beer or wine if you are of a legal age (whatever it may be in your region). Do people in general really see it as a problem that we mention that many of our employees are beer enthusiasts?

Nothing wrong with a good beer. Be of age (if you follow the law by the tee) or just be smart about it. Besides, there is always Root Beer, just as good as the one without root.

I think I might fall into the "young kid" category, but that's a little subjective

Hmm... "beer soda" sounds good to me.

If you squint, it also looks a little like "bear soda," which would be all kinds of crazy.

    • Up here, in the frozen tundra of Canada, we celebrated Canada Day this past Friday with something we call "barley pop". We don't have soda up here.

Pop is something you suck on like Lollipop or Popsicle. The fizzy stuff in the can or bottle is definitely soda.

Anyone built a novel use of microcontrollers to launch those fireworks?

    Are those window clings legal?

      Pends on the state.

Look at the eyes on that thing though. It's not that you can't see through it, it's that it sees straight through you.

  • I think every Hyundai should have a sticker on it saying "Made in Korea (made by America)" Nothing is more patriotic than buying a product from a product of America.

They actually make cars in the US: http://www.hmmausa.com/
I don't know about that particular model, though. And I'm pretty certain all the engineering is done in Korea...

    and set off fireworks.
Except fireworks are illegal here in Maine :-(

  • What a patriotic car! or as the Koreans would say: 애국 자동차와 고양이

I thought Emcee's avatar was a bin laden puppet from team america world police....for about three seconds then I realized it's a dark beer..Oh Yeah!

On a non-american car? Think of the Kittez!

  • I'm going to be very patriotic by listening to the awesome Israeli trance band (EDIT: Trance 2 people) Astral Projection!
