yes, I’ve done this with the ones pololu sells, I just used a chair, piece of wood and body weight… worked fine, but again those were 3 piece connectors.
I’ve used the A4983, with heatsink and fan, on the tiny polulou boards and was really never able to get more than 1.1 amps out of them for extended amounts of time where I was comfortable leaving the router unattended, wish there more robust drivers in here.
Is it correct to assume that motor speed can be controlled with a pwm signal on the IN pins?
Possibly from an rc servo tester attached to the 5volt output?
or pulse the enable pins?
Thanks for the info, I just tied them to ground, seemed to work… another question for the sparkfun guys: on the current revision, 4.3:
is the silkscreen for min and max backwards?

I thought with a chopper drive, the higher the voltage will keep the torque high at a higher rpm,
the torque curves I’ve looked at for steppers show increased bipolar torque at higher rpms with higher voltage.

Is this board, automatically set for 1/8 step mode?
Do I need to put MS1 and MS2 to pulldowns to achieve FULL step mode?

Hey, not sure if this is the place for this, but I just ordered 3 of these a few days ago that went out today… possible that they are bad?
