The way I saw it, things were slammed and like trying to swim through peanut butter for 2 hours but then… the server was rebooted or otherwise shut down.after about the 10-20mins of down time the site came back up and everything was snappyfast… remaining cash (over half) was grabbed in <5mins. I think that is what frustrated a lot of people.
Also, to those that didn’t get anything and are complaining/angry at Sparkfun. Keep in mind that they didn’t need to do this at all. They could’ve tested their server in many other ways for a LOT cheaper. You don’t blame the lottery when your numbers aren’t picked (I hope), don’t blame sparkfun for trying to do something fun/charitable/generous.
