Couldn’t for the life of me get it to work on 7 64-bit. Booted into Ubuntu and followed http://seeedstudio.com/wiki/Dfu-util
You could probably do it from a liveCD.

Check out the wiki. Apparently there’s a ppa for dfu-util.
