A lot of stuff that you do with parts from SparkFun involves knowing at least a bit of electronics.
And I believe the credit can’t go below 0, it’s just if you get some questions right that your credit decreases.
It’s actually a great idea, but there will always be people who don’t want to put in the work.

This is quite a project! I love it!
I actually happen to have quite a few of those parts lying around (minus RFID/LCD) that I was going to use for one of Mikal Hart’s puzzles. Now that I’ve seen this, I think I’m going to combine the two.
I think it’s time for me to buy some more parts :D

Isn’t the LED forward voltage supposed to be the same as the backlight supply voltage? They’re different.
And how would you drive the backlight with 150mA?

To clarify, VCC is tied directly to 5V from the USB port, correct?
And please add a 5V jumper/switch!

To clarify, charging with a MAX1811 at 500mA won’t cause a LiPo fire.
And if I put this battery in a charge sack, and it did explode, will the fumes ignite a wooden box? (I’m thinking yes)

Just wondering, have any of these ever gone up in flames (LiPo fire)? While I’m fine using them in my own projects, putting one in a reverse geocache box makes me wary – I don’t want someone’s house going up in flames!
