  • There's a problem with Arduino integration with the Blynk Board.

I was able to install Sparkfun Blynk support by installing v 2.1 of the 'esp8266' package via the board manager. The Blynk Board showed up.

However, I was prompted to update the esp8266 boards because of board management from "http://arduino.esp8266.com/stable/package_esp8266com_index.json" - that source has a V 2.3 of the library which adds other boards, but removes the blynk board.

I'm not sure if both orgs are updating that board management configuration, but the latest version of that package removes the blynk.

    Blynk board add-on

Try typing the word "ESP8266" instead of "Blynk" in the Arduino IDE's board manager if you are trying to follow this section of the tutorial [ https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/blynk-board-arduino-development-guide/install-the-blynk-board-arduino-addon ]. I had some issues finding the "SparkFun Blynk Board" add on when looking in the Arduino v.1.6.5's board manager. Eventually I was able to install the board definition.

I still dont see the Blynk board as an option. Using arduino 1.6.9, esp8266 2.3.0 and Sparkfun ESP8266 2.1.0 installed

EDIT: Ive found I need esp8266 2.1.0 to be able to see the blynk board as an option

After installing definitions, Sparkfun Blynk Board does not appear under "Boards". Thing and Thing Dev appear, but that's all.
