Older schematics sometimes used "uuF" (micro-micro Farads) rather than pF. I don't recall exact date when the change was made, but uuF was in common use when I first started in electronics in the mid-1960s. Indeed, I recall having to do a bit of research the first time I saw pF.
I've heard folks refer to uF as "mikes" in spoken language, and pF as "puffs",
