    The wooden things with food on them that you show are cutting boards. Breadboards have holes or slots - the idea is that the crumbs fall through (and then the crumbs are used in lots of recipes). Things like http://www.thegreenhead.com/2010/07/bamboo-bread-board-with-crumb-catcher.php - or just google for "breadboard crumbs" and you'll see what I mean.

      Breadboards are also used for kneading dough. You seem to be focused on the Crumb Catching Grate.

    Thanks for this. I just got a new large breadboard with binding posts no I didn't know what they were used for. Now I know! Now I just need to experiment and find out how to attach them to the board because they came unattached.
