Hey! Listen! SparkFun is closed Thursday and Friday, 11/22 and 11/23.
Deadline to place an order that will ship this week: 12pm (MST) Wednesday, 11/21! Not all shipping methods apply. See our shipping policy for more details.

As you may know, next Monday (November 26, 2012) is Cyber Monday - the internet shopping equivalent of Black Friday. This year, SparkFun is getting in on the fun!

SparkFun will be offering free shipping on all qualifying orders placed on Cyber Monday. Here are the basic rules:

  • Orders that qualify (based on weight/value restrictions) will be eligible for either domestic Economy Light shipping or for international orders, USPS First Class Mail International.
  • If your order doesn’t qualify for either of those shipping methods, the next level up of shipping will be free. You’ll be able to tell what shipping level your order will be eligible for when you check out. It will be clearly marked, so don't worry about choosing the wrong option!
  • Sorry distributors – we love you guys, but you’re not eligible.
  • The free shipping will only be for orders placed from 12:00 a.m. Mountain Time on November 26, 2012 to 11:59:59 p.m. on November 26, 2012.

If you have any questions, feel free to leave them in the comments section below! Cheers!

Can we know in advance whether the order qualifies or not? Maybe in the checkout section?

    • It will show in the shipping options before you complete checkout. Unless you're a distributor, your order will almost certainly qualify. I kind of poorly worded the rules above, but basically ALL orders qualify (except distributors) - it just depends on the order's size/weight for which shipping method will be free.

      Sorry for any confusion!

Saw it! Thank you VERY much! A real soldering station is on the way at last!

Oh, yay... I'll save a whole $20.00 on a $200+ order. Ah, no thanks... onto the next vendor. At least other places have stuff on sale in addition to shipping savings on orders.

I'm pretty sure nobody cares. But, your from Jersey so I'll forgive the idiotic reply. Can't forgive the ridiculously moronic beard though homeboy.

    FREE SHIPPING YES

  • Can I order multiple times and still avail free shipping? What about "USPS Express Mail International" as I don't see "USPS First Class Mail International" during checkout.

Since no orders will be shipped until Nov 26th it would seem like orders placed Thanksgiving day through Monday should qualify!

Yes. See also comment by Emcee Grady (SFE staff member) in reply to a question asking if this also applies to international shipping.

I'm from Australia, but will be in CA from Sunday. I'm guessing if I order on Monday it might not be able to be delivered by Friday?

does this include orders from BatchPCB?

  • 12:00 MST means 7:00am GMT which means 11:00am in UAE. Planet Earth has a unique sense of humor.

Does free shipping apply to intentionally backordered items?

  • Arturo Arellano / about 11 years ago / 1

So it means no matter if my package is only qualified to international priority mail, shipping will be free??

    • Basically, we're giving you the cheapest available shipping option free. If first class isn't an option, the next step up (whatever that may be) will be free.

    You're on UTC-7 ATM?

So for us international'ers, you'll start at 2012-11-26 07:00 UTC, right?

    • Confirmed, we are on UTC-7.

      It will be from 2012-11-26 07:00 UTC through 2012-11-27 07:00 UTC. :-)

      thanks, todd.

Timezones is not the hard part, imho. Y'all should just switch over to the 24h system, instead of this am/pm nonsense. Or atleast start counting at 0 when the next day starts. Not at 12, going upto 12:59 and then all of a sudden from 1:00. Madness I say. ;)

Yeah, there is no 12:00AM. It's either 12 noon or 12 midnight.

          • 12:00 AM is the same as 0:00:00, which refers to today and comes 0.0 nsec after 24:00:00 of the previous day. Midnight is ambiguous because it could refer to today or yesterday, and 12:00 midnight is redundant. It's not much fun to parse, but it's still not as crazy as DST offsets.

        • I operate on a 24 hour clock wherever possible.

What I can't seem to find is a reasonably priced and reasonable quality analog watch with a 24 hour dial. The only nonsense I can find has cheap plastic crystals and were made in some Soviet state 40 years ago. :-/

    Does this include International Shipping?

    • Yep! Depending on the weight/value of your order it will qualify for either USPS First Class Mail International or the next level up.
