SparkFun is heading across the pond for Maker Faire Rome! This event is taking place on October 3rd-5th at the Auditorium Parco della Musica.

Just like at MFNY this past weekend, we will be hanging out in ATMEL's tent and hosting a PTH soldering workshop featuring the new SparkFun Interactive Badge! The badge itself was designed by SparkFun Engineer Toni and Creative Technologist Nick. Once attendees solder their badge, it becomes a trivia game. The participant can put the badges into three interactive stations which have electronics-based trivia question on them. If the questions are answered correctly, the stations add points to the badges. Each point adds a new color to the LED on the top of the badge and points add up to SparkFun discounts! We'll be soldering until we run out of boards.

Join us for some awesome PTH soldering!

We'll also have a member of the local hackerspace HackLab Terni in the booth helping with translations! As a thank you, at the end of the faire we are donating all the soldering irons we use at the booth to HackLab Terni. We get help with Italian and they get irons, it's a win-win! Thank you HackLab Terni!

Before Maker Faire, the Open Source Summit will take place as part of Innovation Week Rome. We'll also be checking that out! If you want to attend, you can learn more here.

Hope you can join us!

Please can you tell me brand and model/type of the soldering iron and the solder wire you used in the PTH soldering workshop at Maker Faire... I was very emotioned at the moment of soldering and normally I need eyeglasses to see the little holes of the card. BTW with that iron, soldering was like a promenade... I want quickly get them hopefully not cost exagerately.... TIA - Danilo De Riso - Naples - Italy.

The gerund isn't used exactly the same in Italian as it is in English.

“stiamo andando a Roma” is used when you are right now in the act of going to Rome.

“andremo a roma” would be used if you are going to go to Rome sometime in the future.
