Arduino Day 2015

It's Arduino Day! Today only (3/28/2015) starting at 12:01 a.m. MDT and running until 11:59:59 p.m. or until everything is gone, we're offering heavy discounts on some of our favorite Arduino and Arduino-compatible boards and Arduino accessories. So what's on sale? Let's take a look...

Please remember: all sales are WHILE SUPPLIES LAST!

That means no backorders. Arduino and Arduino-compatible boards have a limit of two per customer (that means two of each product - not two total). Accessories and shields have no order maximum (while they last).

In the video Shawn says the MicroView runs at 3.3V, but according to the documentation it runs at 5V. http://learn.microview.io/intro/general-overview-of-microview.html

For people who are curious - some graphs:

( There were supposed to be some in an Arduino Day 2014 post-mortem as wellhttps://www.sparkfun.com/news/1439#comment-5336fcca757b7f684a8b4567, but Google's not finding it for me. )

Is Sparkfun ready or willing to comment on the direction of Arduino LLC and Arduino SRL? Regardless of the Make article from Massimo (Arduino LLC) or the recent letter from Martino (Arduino SRL), Martino's actions speak louder that words. I am curious as to how Sparkfun interacts with either company, from buying Arduino boards to any potential royalties (if that is a real thing) from boards being made by Sparkfun. I would love to see Sparkfun make a stance against Martino, but if not willing to do that, at least educate us on Sparkfun's interaction.

    Thanks!

I'm also curious about this. Partially because I care about the future of Arduino. Partially because I'm curious about the state of products like Arduino Zero (only sold by Arduino SRL right now).

  • Why put the voicebox shield on sale if backorders are not allowed?

    • We had 3 weeks worth of these built and available as of Friday morning. But, unfortunately, 2 orders were placed that day that wiped us out of that one board. And we did not have enough time after those two orders were placed to get more built up for today. Heading into Friday we felt good about the quantity of those we had ready to go. But those two orders prove how tough it can be to manage the long tail.
