If you want to learn about the wonderful world of e-textiles, join us on the next episode of SparkFun Live, airing on Tuesday, April 21st at 3 p.m. In this episode, Amanda and I (Angela) will showcase a plethora of prom-themed e-textiles projects. We'll be talking about how to use LilyPad sewable electronic boards in projects ranging from full outfits such as dresses and suits to smaller accessories including corsages, hats, and more.

If you'd like to build something along with us, we'll be working on a color changing corsage using the Silk Flower LED. We'll be publishing a tutorial soon walking you through the whole project as well.

  • Decorative elastic or ribbon, cut to wrist size
  • Hot glue gun (and glue)
  • Needle nose pliers
  • Scissors
  • Additional decorative accents - smaller fake flowers, ribbon, etc to hide battery holder and add finishing touches to corsage

For even more color options, we'll talk about using the LilyPad Pixel Board to create color changing creations and show how a sample circuit looks in different types of projects.
