On Friday during the New Product Post, we tossed an amazing cut-out of Shawn's best Oktoberfest expression on the blog to see what you could do with it. We loved the entries we got, and now our interest is really piqued, so we're having a PHOTOSHOP CONTEST. Here's how this is going to work:
- You take the below photo of Shawn's head, and Photoshop it into a (PG) situation that amuses you. If it's inappropriate or generally not cool, we're gonna delete it and be disappointed in you, so just don't give in to the temptation to cross that line.
- Post it in the comments below.
- You can enter as many Photoshops as you want, so GO NUTS. Bob_the_Cannibal, TheCentaur and Member #394180, you're already in the running and don't have to re-enter your first submissions from Friday unless you really want to.
- You have until Friday, September 25 at 10 a.m. MDT to enter.
- We will pick a winner, post the winning entry on the blog early next week for all to see, and send that special person a MiP robot and box of mystery goods worth approximately $250. (You could even print out the photo of Shawn's head and attach it to your MiP as a reminder of your photo manipulation excellence.)

After an extended day drinking session for science, Shawn thought it would be a good idea to first-hand test Sparkfun's Triple Axis Accelerometer and Gyro Breakout and the Altitude/Pressure Sensor Breakout.
I was considering doing this one, but I don't have the skills to change the shawn-face perspective to fit. Nice job.

GIMP deals with transparency (Alpha channel) fine. I just had problems figuring out how to embed the picture in the forums. The GIMP file is there if anyone wants to make a better attempt than my paltry skills would allow. (Or to see how I did it...)

Bah. I did review the formatting help, but I can't see the picture. I must be missing something.
[Edit] I wound up using Imgur, if anyone else is having similar problems.
I had similar problems trying to host from DropBox. It seems that the public link for both Google Drive and DropBox actually point to a web page with the image embedded, not to the raw image itself.
I had to use a dedicated image hosting site, in my case postimg.org and I didn't have to sign up.
You're correct, but at least with google drive, you can "get a shareable link", then open that link yourself, and right click the image to copy the image URL. Paste that very, very long URL here and it'll show up while being hosted on google. I use photos.google.com.
