Hello everyone and welcome back to another Friday Product Post here at SparkFun Electronics! This week, we are going to be looking at four new Qwiic boards with two unique chip sets! We start with the Bosch BMA400 triple axis accelerometer that specifically suited for ultra-low-power applications. Following that we have the new STMicroelectronics LPS28DFW Absolute Digital Barometer that will give you some of the most accurate readings from a water-proof sensor. These boards are offered in both Standard-size as well as Micro-size, so you have some options in case space issues are a concern. Now, let's jump in and take a look at each of this week's new products!

The SparkFun Qwiic BMA400 Triple Axis Accelerometer Breakouts offer 3-axis acceleration sensors perfect for ultra-low-power applications on an easy-to-use Qwiic breakout board. Dubbed the first "real" ultra-low power acceleration sensor, the BMA400 is perfect when used in both wearable and smart home applications. Where this sensor shines, however, is its ability to distinguish between critical situations and false signals by avoiding false alarms. The Qwiic system allows for integration into your I2C system with no soldering required. The Standard-size Qwiic breakout also includes 0.1"-spaced PTH pins connected to the sensor's communication interface and interrupt pins for applications that require a traditional soldered connection. Meanwhile, even though the Micro-size version does not allow for a traditional 0.1"-spaced PTH header for communication, the board does route an interrupt and ground pin to a through-hole connection.

The SparkFun Qwiic LPS28DFW Absolute Digital Barometers offer a unique barometer breakout featuring the LPS28DFW from STMicroelectronics©. The LPS28DFW is an absolute barometer with a water-resistant package making it perfect for pressure measurement applications where the sensor is exposed to or even submerged in water.

SparkFun Qwiic MultiStar Constellation Ornament

SparkFun Qwiic MultiStar Constellation Ornament

WIG-21277
$4.95

Have you ever had problems trying to daisy chain Qwiic-enabled boards with only ONE Qwiic connector? Or maybe you need a Qwiic-enabled device that is not in the middle of a daisy chain? The SparkFun Qwiic MultiStar adds five additional ports to boards that have only one Qwiic port on the I2C bus. Due to popular demand (and a few too many ordered), we have reworked the MultiStar into a working (and much safer) celestial version of the MultiPort with five Qwiic connectors. Once added, you can use it as a hub to add as many I2C devices to the bus as you need!

SparkFun Constellation MicroMod Kit

KIT-21224

Now, if you want the full kit the the MultiStar is a part of, the SparkFun Constellation MicroMod Kit joins the ranks of the SkeleBoard and the SnowBoard. Instead of releasing a single board this year, we have opted to release a full kit, instead! This kit combines both MicroMod and Qwiic in a single box with a limited edition MicroMod ATP Carrier Board and MultiStar (this year's April Fool's Day joke). No, we aren't joking this time! Due to popular demand, we have reworked the MultiStar into a working (and much safer) celestial version of the MultiPort. Also included in this kit is a MicroMod Screw Driver and two Qwiic Cables to get you hooked up! The ATP Carrier Board and MultiStar included in this kit feature a matte black PCB with a star scape design in white silk.

That's it for this week. As always, we can't wait to see what you make. Shoot us a tweet @sparkfun, or let us know on Instagram, Facebook or LinkedIn. Please be safe out there, be kind to one another, and we'll see you next week with even more new products!

Never miss a new product!

It sort of appears in the photos that the LPS28DFW has a "nib" on it for attaching a tube. This could be useful, especially when trying to measure liquid pressure. Some guidance in the description as to what diameter this "nib" is (and thus what size tubing to use) could prove useful. Also, although the "Getting Started" guide mentions conformal coating, and even points to another guide about how to it, there are no suggestions as to where to get the stuff.
