Free Day Credits Are Expiring!

A reminder that Free Day credits expire soon.

Favorited Favorite 0

I mistakenly posted the wrong date - Free Day credits expire on March 12th, not March 10th. Back in January, we held the third iteration of the SparkFun Free Day. Once again, it was kind of a crazy day - then again, any day on which you try to give away $200,000 is sure to be a little wild. Today, we just wanted to remind everyone who won a $100 credit that Monday, March 12th, 2012 is the final day to use your Free Day credit! If you missed Free Day, check out Part I of our documentary video here:

So there you have it! Make sure you use your Free Day credit by the 12th. Maybe buy thirty-three 1.0" Single Digit Alphanumeric Displays or 105 sixteen channel multiplexers - whatever floats your boat!

me thinks that sparkfun should take the remaining credit that isn't claimed by the 12th and randomly give it to members who:

    1. did not receive a freeday credit this year
    2. bought products in the last previous year (2011) 2a. those orders were not bought with freeday credit

as a token of their appreciation to those members.

If they were going to do that they should have just done that in the first place....Defeates the entire point of it all.... anything unclaimed should be lost its those winners issue, if they worked so hard to get it and don't use it their loss and in this situation sparkfun's gain

Hmm... I see that you don't have to shop on SparkFun very often, Emcee. You can actually get 37 alphanumeric displays or 131 multiplexers, if you ignore taxes and shipping and factor in SparkFun's bulk pricings. 'Just sayin.

Hrmph, I pointed this out shortly after the post went up, and he never replied to MY comments...

    • I actually do buy quite a bit of stuff for my personal projects, but not taking the bulk discount into mind was indeed my downfall. [sigh] Next time...next time...

I used mine the very next day! And now my wife's dog has chewed my RFID ID-12 reader. While I am sad I had to put the dog down, I am at least glad I got it for free day.

I didn't really kill the dog, just moved her forcefully out of the way and banned her from the mother-in-law apartment turned nerd cave. She actually made it a point to grab two separate breadboards loaded with components and my UNO from the top of my workbench. This also included a $30 4D display but I caught her before she did any more damage. My wife says she did it so I would stop playing with my toys and pet her instead.

Also, 56 single-digit alphanumeric displays if you buy the red or yellow; 37 if blue (as linked).
