Today, we are excited to announce the SparkFun eTextiles Halloween Costume Contest! This new contest invites you to bust out your blinkiest, scariest, most creative electronic costumes for a shot at glory. The rules are pretty simple:
- Submit your entry by October 31, 2012 by emailing a photo and/or video of your costume and a brief explanation to marketing@sparkfun.com with the subject "Halloween Costume Contest."
- Entries will be judged based on their creativity and engineering execution.
- Costumes MUST contain electronics (not necessarily purchased from SparkFun). The more electronics, the better!
Winners will be announced on November 7, 2012. What are the prizes, you ask? First place gets $200 in SparkFun bucks, second place gets $100 SFE dollars, and third place will receive $50 SFE dollars.
If you're not sure where to start with eTextiles, check out this new tutorial from our eTextile guru Dia. In this tutorial, she shows how to use the LilyPad Tiny Twinkle board to create a pair of beautiful blinking fairy wings. If you have any questions, please ask them in the comments section below. AWESOME!!!! My halowwen costume is a light up shirt.....not too fun to sew together, but it looks awesome!!! But I don't think it's good enough to win.....
