Stepper Motor Mount - NEMA 17 (Actobotics)

The NEMA 17 Stepper Motor Mount connects to the topside of a stepper motor to make integrating it into your Actobotics project even easier. Thanks to the 0.77" hub pattern this stepper motor mount can attach to Actobotics channels or any other surface with the same hub pattern and can make building your 3D printer or precision camera slide a snap. The mount includes four M3 x 6mm x 0.5mm pitch mounting screws for attaching your stepper motor and has a 0.5" bore.

Actobotics is a robotics building system based around extruded aluminum channels, gears, precision shafts, and ball bearings. Thanks to the two standardized hole patterns, nearly all Actobotics components can be intuitively connected together. The wide range of components makes building complex electromechanical prototypes or finished projects a reality.

  • Has anyone ever given a thought to making/getting the actobotics parts in some sort of engineering plastic? possibly ABS or HDPE? I would think that it would be strong enough for lighter duty projects and much less expensive than aluminum.

will this work with the nema 16?

    • -------------------- Tech Support Tips/Troubleshooting/Common Issues --------------------

It should work with the NEMA 16 motors. I just tested our NEMA 16 stepper motor https://www.sparkfun.com/products/9238 and the stepper motor mount happened to fit. The screws also fit with the stepper motor with cable. You might want to double check the drill holes and mounting hole pattern on the stepper motor that you are using. It might be different if depending on the manufacturer of your stepper motor.

exactly what I wanted

Fits my NEMA 17 stepper perfectly. Supplies a very accurate and stable mount to Actobotics channel.

Great product, does what it's supposed to

However, the way the connection is made to the actobotics parts limited me in my application. Otherwise a great part and very useful for attaching stepper motors to actobotics parts
