Having a broken phone or electronics device stinks, whether it's a screen going out, a cable becoming unplugged, or even a more severe issue that will cost you more money that your device is worth. The majority of us have had it happen. For those who'd rather "DIY" it themselves, the iFixit Pro Tech Toolkit for professionals and amateurs alike who are willing to step up to the plate. The Pro Tech Toolkit has all the tools you would need for fixing most problems with electronics short of soldering/desoldering components. The folding bag makes for an ideal, space conscious tool set you can carry with you regularly. Tools such as spudgers and tweezers make dealing with small connectors and removing parts like screens much less complicated. The well-thought-out nature of the kit is apparent in the layout of the kit in it's "rolling" organizer and inclusion of a set of "consumable" tools designed to break before your device does. The rest of the tool set is incredibly durable and designed to provide solid grip when using them.

Whether it's for assembling a kit, hacking an enclosure, or creating your own parts; the DIY skill is all about knowing how to use tools and the techniques associated with them.
Skill Level: Competent - You might need to break out the power tools. Nothing beyond a power drill or rotary tool should be required, but you might have a hard time with just a screwdriver and hammer. Cutting holes into plastic or metal might be required.

Quality tools
I especially like the new short metal shucking knife - has been incredibly helpful on those jobs where the spudgers and picks are just not quite enough purchase on those underlying hooks.
Really also like the magnetic box change from the previous iteration of the kit that was done in grey. The grey one was always hard to close, their change to address this was to magnetize the hard plastic box and put a magnetic panel in rollup mat. Great for keeping everything organized when you're not using it, and gives a great little magnetic workspace to help keep track of stuff when it's actually opened up.
Polymer tipped tweezers are a nice touch too - no more of the tips of your tweezers getting screwed up not making perfect contact anymore. Works great even for the rougher jobs I probably should not be using tweezers for in the first place.
I've relegated my old grey kit to my desk and now keep this kit on my as my every day carry thanks to these improvements.
