With the release of the Jetson Nano™ Developer Kit, NVIDIA® empowers developers, researchers, students, and hobbyists to explore AI concepts in the most accessible way possible. Reinforcing its commitment to widening the accessibility to and innovation in the area of deep learning, NVIDIA has created a free, self-paced, online Deep Learning Institute (DLI) course, “Getting Started with AI on Jetson Nano.” The goal of the course is to build foundational skills to enable anyone to get creative with the Jetson Developer Kit.

Included in this kit is everything you will need to get started in the “Getting Started on AI with Jetson Nano” and you will learn how to

  • Set up your Jetson Nano and camera
  • Collect image data for classification models
  • Annotate image data for regression models
  • Train a neural network on your data to create your own models
  • Run inference on the Jetson Nano with the models you create

The NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute offers hands-on training in AI and accelerated computing to solve real-world problems. Developers, data scientists, researchers, and students can get practical experience powered by GPUs in the cloud and earn a certificate of competency to support professional growth. They offer self-paced, online training for individuals, instructor-led workshops for teams, and downloadable course materials for university educators.

    Just received my Jetson Nano DLI order,along with the logitech K400 keyboard and the edimax N150 USB WIFI. I found a refrence on this site to the Nvidia forum to install the edimax wifi drivers. Everything is working fine.

Great introduction to vision based AI

Good system but the NVIDIA course only barely scratches the surface. Functioned as advertised. Need to build the Jetbot next to dig a little deeper into the system capabilities.

Perfect kit to get started

It has everything you need to be up and running in minutes. Follow along with the NVIDIA DLI course Getting Started with AI on Jetson Nano and you won't be disappointed. It runs tethered to your PC or stand alone. I added a wireless bridge so it can get on my WIFI network. Just plug it into the RJ45 on the board. It does get hot when working hard so you might want to consider a fan.

Accurate as the description

I bought the kit to make the certificates on Nvidia and learn more about DeepLearning, so far the kit is well presented and it is really easy to use/install specially on headless mode. Now I need to find a project to work in it. For the record I flash 2 times the SD card for the two different courses and I installed several packages on it without issues at all. All work as the page declare at least in my case.

Fantastic starter kit.

One comment - when using the DC power supply (as supplied and recommended to do anything nontrivial), you have to install the J48 jumper (first) so it gets power from the barrel connector, otherwise it won't turn on and you may be worried you got a dud.

Convenient for a price

The power brick has an irritatingly short cable on the barrel side. It's 48cm / 19 inches, which means the brick must be cluttering up the workbench rather than sitting on the floor down by the mains outlet. The webcam is a very basic 720p unit, the 32Gb sdcard is adequate, the usb cable generic. On the positive, the Jetson Nano itself is a wonder of technology.

I knew I was making a time-money tradeoff - I purchased the full kit as an expedient way to get started, rather than spending time rummaging around my junkboxes looking for parts to borrow from other projects. But now I'm back to the junkbox looking for a power brick with a longer cable, or firing up the soldering station for a quick splice job.

If you have no junkbox, this is a suitable solution to get started immediately. If you do have a stash of parts, better to roll your own.
