ProtoBoard - Round 1"
This is a very simple but extremely handy, 1" round, double sided perf board. Standard 0.1" spacing with a 4-40 (3mm) hole for mounting.

Core Skill: Soldering
This skill defines how difficult the soldering is on a particular product. It might be a couple simple solder joints, or require special reflow tools.
Skill Level: Noob - Some basic soldering is required, but it is limited to a just a few pins, basic through-hole soldering, and couple (if any) polarized components. A basic soldering iron is all you should need.

are the holes plated thru
How does it work ? Are the holes somehow linked like in a breadboard, or should I link them with wires on the other side ?
you solder everything together, so you make all the connections.
I'm a noob... what does double-sided mean, as opposed to single sided?
You can place and solder components on both sides instead of just one.
