Swivel Hub

The swivel hub lets you connect any two parts with the 0.77" hub pattern together and have them swivel a full 360 degrees. Internal ball bearings allow for smooth motion. Tapped 6-32 holes are on both sides, making attachment easy. Use these wherever you need a smooth swivel motion such as a wheel mount or rotating platter.

Actobotics is a robotics building system based around extruded aluminum channels, gears, precision shafts, and ball bearings. Thanks to the two standardized hole patterns, nearly all Actobotics components can be intuitively connected together. The wide range of components makes building complex electromechanical prototypes or finished projects a reality.

Core Skill: Robotics

This skill concerns mechanical and robotics knowledge. You may need to know how mechanical parts interact, how motors work, or how to use motor drivers and controllers.

1 Robotics

Skill Level: Noob - You will be required to put together a robotics kit. Necessary parts are included and steps will be easy to follow. You also might encounter basic robotics components like bearings, mounts, or other hardware and need a general idea of how it goes together.

Core Skill: DIY

Whether it's for assembling a kit, hacking an enclosure, or creating your own parts; the DIY skill is all about knowing how to use tools and the techniques associated with them.

1 DIY

Skill Level: Noob - Basic assembly is required. You may need to provide your own basic tools like a screwdriver, hammer or scissors. Power tools or custom parts are not required. Instructions will be included and easy to follow. Sewing may be required, but only with included patterns.

  • There is little ball bearings in a channel. But it doesn't move smoothly. The screw in the middle holding the halves together is metal on metal. I even put 3n1 oil on it and it still doesn't move smoothly. If you loosen the screw, it just makes the halves have play. This could have been better designed with an actual bearing, but for 7 bucks...

Kind of terrible

I ordered several. Most seem to stick a bit. Only one spun smoothly and freely. I installed that one in my prototype, but in testing it simply came apart, spraying tiny ball bearings all over my apartment. I guess that's better than it coming apart inside the sealed box I was planning to install it into. Now I need to find something new and redesign my project. Even if I found a "perfect" one of these, I wouldn't trust it to not come apart at a critical moment.
