SparkFun Inventor's Kit Parts Refill Pack - v3.3

If you use the SparkFun Inventors Kit in a classroom or workshop setting, you know that when a bunch of people get their hands on the same kit, things get lost/broken. That's why we offer the SparkFun Inventor's Kit Parts Refill Pack. This way, you don't need to buy a whole new kit if you lose a few of the smaller or more wear-prone bits.

This refill pack includes new items such as servos, gearmotors, photocells, and mutli-colored buttons and LEDs. We understand that sometimes you need to replace some more pricey parts, we hope this helps!

I like this kit refills good price for how many parts you get, and it was way easier than trying to shop around for individual parts and then end up paying for shipping on multiple orders from different sources. I like the members suggestion for sparkfun to add a few female connectors or jumpers so we could make longer wires.

I don't really have a use for the servos as I don't have an arduino or 555 chip or anything to control them with, but still everthing else was a good deal.

Maybe Sparkfun will make a future version of this kit with a 555 chip added and some capacitors and transistors to make a basic circuit for the servos cheap.

The green LED's seem to not be as bright as the others, is there a reason for this?

Also, FANTASTIC pack. The kit was out of stock, and I didnt need everything in the kit, but I did need everything here. Fantastic deal.

Only suggestion: include some female/femail headers and/or jumpers.

In the photo there are 6 green LEDs and in the description it says there are only supposed to be 5. How many LEDs are there supposed to be?

If you thought this was a steal before...

Agreed. It's got free photocells, motors, and servos, plus a better variety of LED's compared to the other refill pack for the same price.

Best deal ever.

This is an amazing deal and I would recommend this to anyone who is low on components or is new to robotics because this is a great kit for an even better price.

Parts!

I picked this up to go with the Photon kit I got for my brother (before the PIK was available). Since there is SO MUCH STUFFS, I padded out my components a little, too.

My kids love it! Ages 11, 9 & 7

What is better than push-buttons, lights, motors and wires? Visualizing current, voltage and resistance, that's what!

My kids are having a blast with this kit! And I love the time that it has given me with them! They ask a question and we discuss the answer. They draw a schematic, we review it and then they build it!

I just bought a second one for my oldest after my second oldest expressed an interest in electrical engineering. Woohoo! My 7 year old is absolutely fascinated with design too. So easy to teach with this kit! FYI to anybody that reads this, the push-buttons are compatible with a bread board....I was kind of skeptical :)

Happy EEing!!

Cost-Effective

Already possessing an Arduino Uno and a bit of expertise I found this kit grab-bag a very cost-effective way to start some new projects.

OK kit

Motors and servos are really cheep. Way to many jumper wires. I would remove half the jumper wires, a couple of POTs and CDS cells and add 2 more switches. Also add 2 transistors or MOSFETs for speed control.

Good value for quick set of parts.

Bought this refill kit as an easy and affordable way to start out with some basic electronics parts. The overall set is very good and seems to be good quality. The switches motors trimpot resistors wires LEDs and photo cells make for fun little circuit builds without the need of an arduino or 555 chip… I'm looking forward to using the whole set with a friend who has an arduino.
