Camera Module - pcDuino V3 (5MP)
This 5M pixel camera module is capable of capturing 2592 x 1944 active array video and images and connects directly to your pcDuino V3. Connect the included ribbon cable to the CSI (Camera Serial Interface) port on your pcDuino, boot it up, and you are good to go!
The real strength of this camera module comes from the OV5640 image sensor. The OV5640 is a high quality CMOS image sensor, for mobile phone camera and digital camera applications. The OV5640 incorporates a 2592 x 1944 active array, on-chip 10-bit ADC, and image signal processor. It outputs various data formats, such as RAW RGB, RGB565/555/444, CCIR656, YUV422/420, YCbCr422, and compression.
Note: This module is only capable of taking pictures and video, not sound.

¿Asked runs on Android? try using it and that looks green
It says it's a serial interface (CSI) but the schematic shows a parallel interface. Usually the CSI interfaces have differential signals. For example take a look of Raspberry Pi CSI connector, it's completely different. Can somebody shed some light on this?

Image gets too hot to touch!!!
Is there any information regarding the focal length or angle of view of the camera lens?
Will it come back? I want to use it in combination with Arietta G25 (acmesystems.it) in model airplanes.
will this work on raspberry pi ?
As of right now it appears to me that the only way to get this camera module working is to flash the pcDuino with the Ubuntu 14 OS. Make sure you have a method of doing this before ordering. If you have a window system available it should be no problem.
I had significant issues with getting this camera to work and after several weeks of troubleshooting the problem traced to a defective pcduino3(a) board with a bad csi connector.
I'm sorry you seem to be having problems with this module. I can't speak to why these modules look different than the ones you are use to, but I assure you we do get these directly from Linksprite. If you are still having problems with the module please email techsupport@sparkfun.com directly, while they try to monitor the comments many do fall through the cracks and they probably have not seen your comments.
I'm not having the plug and play experience discribed above on my PCDuino3.

I've already tried upgrading the kernel, board-config, and drivers through the boot menu. I've also added two lines to /etc/modules

Can two of these "5MP camera SEN13249" modules be connected to the same PCDuino? Or how else is suggested to try binocular vision?
Can it be used for recording video and storing that to sd card from Raspberry pi on which linux based OS are used e.g. raspbian??
can the new 5MP camera SEN13249 be used with any other mipi-csi enabled dev-board?** presumably the drivers work on any arm board?
is there a connector for other dev-boards? a suitable hirose breakout board could be a good start.

**there are many boards with mipi-csi connectors, but its hard to find camera modules. does it clip into the RPi camera board and work? ie if one clips off the provided sensor... the OV5640 sensor is the same, and the hirose connector looks the same as on the RPi camera board.
