Android Things brings the simplicity and speed of software development to hardware for IoT with an embedded OS, core services, developer kit, and developer console. The SparkFun Blocks for Intel Edison have native support within Android Things through board support packages making development even more simple. It creates a solution usable from prototype to product and even in scaling.
The Intel Edison is the main component for using Android Things with the SparkFun Blocks for Intel Edison. It’s where the Android Things firmware will be and contains the main processor and wireless modems (both WiFi and BLE). The SparkFun Starter Pack for Intel Edison contains a selection of boards that provides the minimum for getting started using the Intel Edison. The SparkFun Project Kit for Intel Edison and Android Things contains a selection of parts and peripherals for getting started with Android Things using the Intel Edison. It is meant to be used in conjunction with the Starter Pack.
The following SparkFun Blocks for Intel Edison have native support within Android Things. This list will be updated as new board support packages are added.
The Edison Hardware Pack allows for sturdy fastening of the Edison Blocks together to take the pressure off the mezzanine connector.
