The RP2040 Thing Plus is now shipping, and don't forget to check out our other accessories releasing today!
Hello and welcome back - this week we are happy to announce another RP2040 SparkFun Original is shipping! The SparkFun RP2040 Thing Plus comes in a Feather footprint and features an impressive 16 MB of Flash memory, a microSD card slot and more! We also have SparkX's new MicroMod Big Display Driver Carrier Board, a Raspberry Pi micro USB to USB-C Adapter, and a revised (more affordable) version of our S.H.O.V.E.L.! Now, let's jump in and take a closer look!
The SparkFun Thing Plus - RP2040 is a low-cost, high performance board with flexible digital interfaces featuring the Raspberry Pi Foundation's RP2040 microcontroller. Besides the Thing Plus or Feather footprint (with 18 GPIO pins), the board also includes an SD card slot, 16 MB (128 Mbit) flash memory, a JST single cell battery connector (with a charging circuit and fuel gauge sensor), an addressable WS2812 RGB LED, JTAG PTH pins, four (4-40 screw) mounting holes, and our signature Qwiic connector.
The MicroMod Big Display Carrier Board enables the driving of HDMI signal pairs enabling microcontrollers to display graphics on a large DVI, HDMI monitor, or TV. To be clear, there are very few microcontrollers capable of the complex and high speed waveforms needed to produce HDMI signals. Currently, the RP2040 is the only MicroMod Processor Board that is compatible. That said, hooking a dual core Cortex M0 to a 60" TV just makes us giggle.
The Raspberry Pi Micro USB to USB-C Adapter is a small adapter that allows a male Micro-B USB power adapter the ability to power devices with a female USB Type C port, specifically the Raspberry Pi 4.
We're re-introducing the Semi-Horned Oblong Versatile Eating Ladle, or as we like to call it, the S.H.O.V.E.L. This is not your run-of-the-mill spork (foon), folks! It also has a serrated knife and a bottle opener on a sturdy titanium body. Here's the best part: it's open source. This version removes the paracord to reduce the price of the utensil.
That's it for this week! As always, we can't wait to see what you make! Shoot us a tweet @sparkfun, or let us know on Instagram or Facebook. We’d love to see what projects you’ve made! Please be safe out there, be kind to one another, and we'll see you next week with even more new products!
