iPod Connector Male Style 1 - Ding and Dent

Replacement:DEV-00633. We are out of the ding and dents but you can get the normal ones still. This page is for reference only.

We got these in and it turns out they had two of the same metal pins instead of mirror images of each other. Instead of sending them back or trashing them, we decided to sell them a bit cheaper.

In the pictures you see that they have two 'tabs' on the plastic connector. If you simply break off one of the tabs, they work just fine. Just keep in mind you will need to break or cut off that tab to get them to work correctly. If you don't want to mess with it, get the regular ones.

This looks like a QC problem the some one's packaging dept. I bought several and was able to mix-and-match to make complete good connectors. The little spring hooks have part numbers 562-1002 and 562-1003. Some packages had one each, some had two of the same. Probably cost more to repackage them.

Can I file or cut the plastic tab? Only one or two tabs? Can I use it to the iPad?
