SMD Soldering Class - March 21st, 2012

The SMD Soldering Class is our very popular course that teaches SMD soldering to anyone who thinks they can't possibly solder those little pins. This will be a hands-on class where the students learn techniques to help them solder surface mount components.

Classes take place within SparkFun. We provide all the tools, irons, solder, parts, and seats for 20 to 30 students. You'll be soldering the SMD Simon Kit together. By the end of the night, you will have a functioning game to take home and show off to your friends (we get funny looks all the time).

There is a minimum age requirement of 15 years old, and it is highly recommended that you have a strong background in soldering, as basic soldering skills will not be covered. It is highly recommended that you be comfortable with soldering, although you don't necessarily need to be an expert. And if you know your way around an iron, we may even be able to show you some advanced tips and tricks (flux, wicking, hot-air rework, etc).

We scheduled the class within the end of the workday so that you can beat traffic. Class starts promptly at 6PM!

**Prerequisites: **You should have a good familiarity with soldering in general.

**What to bring: **Maybe a bite to eat. SparkFun will provide all the tools, irons and solder.

Date: March 21st, 2012
Time: 6PM to around 10PM
Location:SparkFun

Ended up nearby (JeffCo) in an air tanker for the red flag warnings. Would love to take this class, but I'm not off duty until 6pm. Can I be around 20-30 mins late and not disrupt the class flow?

Please consider online versions of these classes, I'd love to master SMD. even if you had say a 2way webcam requirement or something it would be good.
