My older students comment that it’s really hard to see small parts on both the clear and red translucent breadboards. Tough to make sure component leads end up where you want them to go. Any chance for a traditional white one in this size?

Everybody needs a breadboard - but if you’re not sure how to use it, you may wish to start here: wikipedia:Breadboard.

Personally I wouldn’t go with this red, unless you really like the color (and I suspect you’d find greater affinity with a green one), and instead go with the more common white, and wouldn’t be stingy about it; the ‘translucent white’ listed in the related products below, for example, does have a number of comments that indicate greater quality is to be had from brand name breadboards.

If you do get a breadboard, check out SparkFun’s breadboard-related products - the breadboard power supplies, for example, should prove to be very useful :)

You probably could, but I would recommend trying to use some adhesive remover. Which would then also probably require then gluing or taping the board down. In other words, yes, most likely, but it’s going to be a pain.

These should solve all the issues that the clear boards have with being confusing on seeing what is what and where its running. plus its sparkfun red what more do can you ask for! I have 2 clear ones already I think im going to have to pick up a couple of these too.

One the one hand, I can relate to annoyance at trival details (this happens to me as well). On the other hand, I really can’t think of many instances where the offset would matter much. Off-hand the only things I can think of in a package where the offest would matter that could usefully be tied directly to a terminal strip would be DIP switchs or maybe a resistor network…

In any case, I am in unqualified agreement about the awesomeness of red!:)

You should note to users that, while it will accept 20 AWG it is not recommended. Using 20 AWG will stretch out the metal retainer clips and basically ruin the breadboard. That is what happened to mine.

The fact that the bus strips are not in line with the terminal strips is annoying to me. On the other hand, red is awesome!
