Servo Extension - CAT6 (boosted)

This “boosted” servo extension board allows up to four different servos to be plugged into it and transfer data up to through a common CAT6 cable before being converted back into servo pin-outs on another extension board (sold separately). The boosted servo extension boards come equipped with a 14504BG chip which allows CAT6 communication of up to 100ft, and utilizes the 1.5” hub pattern.

Actobotics is a robotics building system based around extruded aluminum channels, gears, precision shafts, and ball bearings. Thanks to the two standardized hole patterns, nearly all Actobotics components can be intuitively connected together. The wide range of components makes building complex electromechanical prototypes or finished projects a reality.

Receive only

The Servo Extension - CAT6 (boosted) board (this product) is receive only and should be at the servo end of your cable run. Use the Servo Extension - CAT6 (non-boosted) board on the sending end of your cable. The non boosted board can be used as a transmitter or receiver but only if your CAT6 run is short.

    so if I have a total of 3 high torque servos and they need 6V, 2A each, and I am connecting my power source to the aux power pins on the receiver part. can this board handle that much current or should I use the board only for signal and connect servos directly to the power source? Thanks

    So I would need two of these to connect 4 servos? Am I reading that right?

      The descriptions for these products on SparkFun are pretty lacking. What you need is one Servo Extension - CAT6 (boosted) ROB-12272, and one Servo Extension - CAT6 (non-boosted) ROB-12176.

      The "boosted" part is actually the receiver, and the "non-boosted" is the sender. You can control 4 servos at the receiver end using this setup.

      I have used several of these for holiday animations over the last couple of years.
