LED String Lights - RGB (10M, Barrel Jack)

These LED string lights are a great way to add light to any project with little to no soldering required. The insulated strings come in 10m lengths with one RGB LED every 10cm for a total of 100 LED's. The RGB LED's automatically begin cycling through each different color upon powering on, so all you have to do is add 3-3.4V and they are ready to shine. Each string is terminated with a 5.5x2.1mm barrel jack.

Note: 3-3.4V is the the working voltage of these strings. Please do not use 12V.

    Unlike the other strings, these seem to be self current-limiting - they're happy to be voltage-driven. Run them at 6V and they are vivid without being uncomfortably bright. They barely work at 3V (just a dim red glow) and 4-5V lights them up with a distinct lack of blue. At 6V they start to behave correctly. The 3-3.4V recommendation seems to be incorrect here.

    With that out of the way... These strings are great. They behave like Xmas lights, but infinitely more embeddable. So blinky. I love them!

      Cool. I have these running off of 3AA but I wanted to switch to 5-6v. I'm using them enclosed within some diffused material to look like "internals at work" within my R2D2's legs. :) Thanks for ansering the Voltage question beofre I asked it ;)

      Thanks PickledDog! I just received my strands and was excited to try em at 3v... pphbbtt. just red wtf? put em on my bench supply and slowly ran the voltage up 5.3-6v seems to give em vibrant light. Blue drops out quick below that. With proper power, these will be great for xmas projects and beyond.

      Thanks for posting this, mine just came in and I ran into the same issue. One 10m length draws about about 250mA when driven at 6V.
