The Microtips Technology TFT Display is a round RGB LCD screen with a 1.3in diameter display with a 240x240 pixel resolution. These displays are composed of a color TFT-LCD panel, driver IC, Flexible Printed Circuit (FPC), and a backlight unit.

This display is communicates over an SPI interface and operates at 2.8V. Applications include digital equipment which requires a color display, mobile phone, mobile navigator, and video systems.

  • I'm questioning the validity of the datasheet. It says the display has a DF37B-24DP-0.4V(51) connector, but I own one of these and it looks more like a DF37B-24DP-0.4V(53). I think you actually need the DF37B-24DP-0.4V(51) to mate with the display. I could be wrong but just an FYI.

  • Are there any examples of how to interface this display via SPI? looking at the datasheet, it is not obvious. I'm not sure exacly what is required for the "2 lane SPI" and what the exact purpose of WR, "Serial communication data lane 2" is. Which pins correspond to MOSI/MISO (is MISO required at all?), etc

  • Looks very interesting to play around with, but it isn't clear what connector is needed. The data sheet says it terminates with DF37B-24DP-0.4V(51), so the mating part would be DF37NB-24DS-0.4V(51). However, the shape of the connector tail in the data sheet does not match the photo above. Can you confirm the connector?

    Also, the attached data sheet isn't enough to write a driver for this - you'll need the ST7789V data sheet too.

    • You are right. The data sheet is wrong. I bought the display as well as the DF37B-24DP-0.4V(53) connector but they are the exact same connector, so they do not mate. The worst part is that the DF37B-24DP-0.4V(51) part is out of stock everywhere.
