Description: AVR-JTAG is the new In Circuit Emulator from Olimex! It can be used to debug and emulate many of the Atmel processors. A low-priced equivalent version of the AVR-ICE!

Features:

  • Programs all AVR flash microcontrollers which support the ATJTAGICE interface (currently: ATmega16, ATmega32, ATMega323, ATmega162, ATmega169, ATmega128)
  • Works with 3V-5V targets
  • Uses Atmel's 2x5 pin JTAG connector layout (Note: This is different than the Atmel ICSP layout!)
  • No external power supply needed, all power is taken from the target board
  • Works with AVR Studio for programming, real time emulation, debugging, step by step program execution, breakpoints, memory dump etc. Equal in every way with high priced emulators
  • Full emulation of all analog and digital functions, full JTAG programming support
  • Firmware upgrades via software interface under AVR Studio

Firmware Bug: A few JTAGs shipped before January of '04 with a bug that prevented them from being upgraded through AVRStudio. Please see this tutorial on how to fix your JTAG if you purchased your JTAG before January '04. All JTAGs after January '04 are fine.

Voltage Interface: The original 5V version (AVR-JTAG) has been phased out. We now exclusively stock the 3-5V version (AVR-JTAG-L).
