Standard Gearmotor - 6 RPM (3-12V)

These standard gearmotors are incredibly tough and feature full metal gears to help you drive wheels, gears, or almost anything else that needs to turn. They have a gear ratio of 500:1 and operate up to 12 volts and deliver a stall torque of 613 oz-in. and a max speed of 6 RPM. Each standard gearmotor sports a 6mm diameter D-shaft.

Important: The manufacturer has issued a warning that stalling the motor can cause gear damage. Please keep this in mind for testing & using this motor.

Great motor

The motor itself is pretty straightforward and works out of the box. Just apply power and ground. The one complaint I do have is that the mounting holes on the top are blatantly not well threaded. I'm sure the standard use-case is to mount them with that circumference clamp, so that works great. But if you plan to mount them from the top side, then beware that it's not likely to be straightforward. That being said, I laser cut a piece to fit over it and was able to jerry-rig something. All in all, I'm pretty happy!

Halloween Decoration Project

I used this for a spinning carnival wheel made out of painted styrofoam for an indoor Halloween decoration. I used direct DC voltage and a smart outlet. It has been running on a on/off timed schedule for several weeks. The only thing I had to adjust was to create a better bracket to attach the styrofoam to the axle.
