The ESP-WROVER-KIT is a development board produced by Espressif built around ESP32. This board is compatible with most ESP32 modules, including the ESP32-WROOM-32 and ESP32-WROVER (which you will find on the board itself). The ESP-WROVER-KIT features support for multiple amenities not typically found on other IoT devices in today’s market including a microSD card port, camera and LCD inputs, power mode selection, and more. Each of the I/O pins have been broken out from the ESP32 module for easy extension should you choose to use them.

The ESP-WROVER-KIT carries an advanced multi-protocol USB bridge (the FTDI FT2232HL), enabling developers to use JTAG directly to debug the ESP32 through the USB interface. With these features, this development board makes secondary development easy and cost-effective.

The on board ESP32-WROVER module features all the functions of ESP32-WROOM-32 and integrates an external 32-MBit PSRAM for flexible extended storage and data processing capabilities. The ESP-WROVER-KIT even supports mounting and interfacing a 3.2” SPI (standard 4-wire Serial Peripheral Interface) LCD on the back of the board!

  • Protocol Supported: 802.11 b/g/n/e/i, Bluetooth
  • Frequency: 2.4 GHz
  • Operating Supply Voltage: 3.3V, 5V
  • Interface Type: JTAG, SPI, UART, USB

For anyone trying to program this via the Arduino IDE (which works well, BTW), the stock adafruit LCD libraries won't work. See instead. It will save you hours of frustration... (Don't ask me how I know.)
