PIC GSM Cellular Development Board

Replacement: None. There is no direct replacement for this board but check out our cellular category for more cellular modules and boards. This page is for reference only.

PIC-GSM is a great development board for cellular and remote monitoring applications. With it, you can easily monitor and control your home from anywhere there is cell phone coverage with your GSM cellular account. Insert any GSM SIM card and start accessing this board remotely over the cellular network.

Switch on and off relays remotely by SMS, monitor and toggle the status of any GPIO pin, speak or listen on the audio channel of the board, even monitor the built-in temperature sensor. The built-in GSM module has an on-board antenna allowing you to use this module as GPRS modem connected to your computer too. Panic button and alarm inputs can dial your phone and report for alarm or to send you SMS message.

Note: This board has special power requirements. Please read the datasheet before attaching power. The board ships with the BAT_E jumper open (so as not to drain the Li-ion battery). Make sure to close that jumper if you want to use the battery.
