Our (kinda) epic journey about learning the proper way to handle humidity sensors.
Sensors that make sense ... lots of them!
We use a 9DoF Stick IMU and gnuplot to read and analyze model rocket data.
An experiential learning project to teach students in high school and college how to use embedded electronics to accomplish things in the field as a proof of concept. - By Daniel Blake
Wherein we put several sensors through their paces against this year's course.
A whole boat-load of new sensors, new stuff from Modular Robotics, and more!
It's a known trick that we can use LEDs in reverse. We'll explore how to use them as photodetectors with Arduino and create a simple demo that responds to hand swipes.
A bright offering of new products and a Maker Faire reminder!
More new products to get your next project rolling!
The MyoWare Muscle sensor is out, and you know we built a handful of shields to attach to it!
Ultra-cool ultrasonic sensors are a perfect and simple way to add object or distance sensing to your project!
New article on Ultrasonic sensors from Maxbotix and we unleash our new comments feature!
We're taking a look at some of our favorite sensors and breakout boards in this new video series!
A Humidity/Temp Sensor, a new book, and a fantastic demo!
New LilyPad kits, sensors, perf boards, a crazy package tracker, and various pictures updates. Oh, and Production is moving.
In this three-part video series, I show users how to setup their Raspberry Pi with Raspbian, connect a humidity and temperature sensor, and Tweet the results on a regular basis using Python.
Inexpensive sensors and storage are giving us the ability to record our lives, revisit the past, and sometimes solve mysteries.
Up this week, new sensors, a new version of the LIDAR and more!
It's the little things in life that get us excited! We get a new sign! Also, new flat 6DOF Razor, BeagleBoard, new EasyDriver version, custom serial LCDs, 1Watt high power modem (40 mile range!), Bluetooth dongle, microSD reader, air sensors, and microSD sniffer. !.

How to hack a pathway light to make a soil moisture sensor.
While designing our new Simon Tilts Through Hole Soldering Kit, we ultimately found that the best solution for the tilt sensor involved creating a custom plastic part. Here is the story of this project - including a couple interviews with the people that helped us along the way.
We've got a few new products this week, so check out the goods and see if there's anything you can use.
HacKidemia is a global organization that runs hands-on STEM workshops for kids in more than 25 countries around the world with 8000 children and 400 mentors. They were asked to bring the project to Africa and launched an indiegogo campaign two months ago: http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/afrimakers. The main intention is to enable African makers -- kids in particular -- to use making and prototyping for solving local challenges like access to clean water, energy and information. SparkFun has donated the materials for 7 maker boxes - enough to support the initial campaign goal to equip each of the 7 hubs with a set of Arduino's, sensors, books, and tools.
Check out this cool project from Jeff Miller featuring the SparkFun Arduino Pro Mini!
A new episode of Electricute, plus some changes on the wind!
Check out this amazing project from SparkFun customer Peter Jansen.
