  • It was checking your session as logged in, and your user as not having already won. These could be hitting a database or a database cache. They are also valid items to test.

  • It was a lot of effort with nothing to show for it. After putting in what I value as $300 of work, I stopped. But that doesn't mean I get to say I accomplished anything.

    A lot of captchas were actually 3 words, or a formula (chemical or math) or partially upside down. I estimate that 10% of my captchas failed because I tried to tell the system what was actually written there (alphas and deltas included). Also the important word with the black splotch was often totally illegible, making the OCR aspect seem pointless, since you knew you could OCR the unknown word, but couldn't get the random text right.
