    Hello commenters and staff,

    I am interested in knowing the official sampling rate of this device over i2c. Namely, how often I can poll and fetch gyro/accel readings from an i2c master device.

    The datasheets and description all claim “400khz” using the i2c interface. However, using an Arduino Mega 3V3 and simply polling the accel/gyro and pushing the data to PC, I get 50-90Hz (that’s HZ, not KHZ) at maximum. 40-90 accel/gyro readings a second is not remotely enough for any IMU capability (papers and research I find claim 300HZ as a minimum).

    Can anyone give me the info on the ACTUAL maximum sampling rate of this device or recommend another product which can work as an IMU with sample rates of 300Hz or more? What is the reason this device is limited to such low sampling rates if the devices (ITX/ADXL) support samplerates of 1kHZ or more as their datasheets claim??
