Here a Xmas Tree using Addressable LEDs, 2 Arduinos, Audio Spectrum Analyzer board, MP3 player board. 1st Arduino controlling the MP3 Player using TV remote to select music. 2nd Arduino running the Spectrum board and driving LEDs.
7-30 LED strands & about 12 for star at top. Also use TV remote to select different patterns on the tree or just sync to music from MP3 board. As you can see the update rate is very fast.

For anyone who is interested in seeing this IMU work, here is some Aduino code that hopefully works for you. There are 2 projects, ArduimuV3_v1 and ArduimuV3_v2 that will output roll, pitch & yaw data. There are also gyro & magnetometer cal routines. If you have a GPS unit, it will also output that as well. The difference between v1 & v2 and that v2 also outputs pressure-altimeter data from the BMP085 sensor (DIY Drones). This project uses libraries available from DIY Drones (AP_GPS, FastSerial, etc) so will have to get those. The url for these are in the code. There is a Layout.txt file which documents as best I could the board layout - i.e what pins are used on the ATMEGA328 for the various sensors & ports.
There is also a Cube.Zip Processing app which you can feed the output of this IMU to see the results.

Hello, I have a dell win 7 machine and cannot get the update to higher resolution on the FlyCamOne V2 to work. The first half of loading the driver works ok. After rebooting, I held the white button down and plugged in the USB cable. Got error message about driver working correctly. Starting the second driver install program and got “Device can’t be initialized. Please check driver or hardware settings.” What should I do next? Thanks.

Merry Xmas to All! Here’s my YAAXT - Yet Another Arduino Xmas Tree, just in the nick of time. Used the SparkFun Spectrum and MP3 Shields, LPD8806 Addressable LEDs, Dayton Amplifier, Bose Speakers and controlled via IR Remote. Used great MP3 and IR libraries provided by Bill Porter. Also the LPD8806 LED library from AdaFruit. Video could not capture the true intensity of of the led colors - they are so bright, they overwhelm the camera CCD.
