A good step by step guide to making an antenna for this can be found here:

Saw a couple of comments on here. To clarify the “MIFARE” 13.56MHz tags do not work with the ID-12 readers. The ID-12 readers only work on the 125KHz tags. To work with these Mifare 13.56MHz tags you need to use the http://www.sparkfun.com/products/10126 Module or similar.

I finally managed to obtain an antenna off SonMicro, the SM130 it states that it has an I2C interface however it doesn’t ship with that firmware installed by default. It only ships with the UART firmware, you apparently have to contact SonMicro to find out how to reflash it, anyone manage to do this?

I get this problem as well, if I increase the range above 0.0008 it just spins continuously (which is actually quite useful if I ever want to use it as a simple motor)… but not if I want to use it as a servo! Any ideas Sparkfun people?

I second this motion. I’m currently trying to create my own but with no previous “antenna” experience its proving quite troublesome. Even if you provided a simple video as to how to make a simple DIY one (tuned to 13.56MHz) that would be better than nothing!
