  • Is anyone else having issues seeing images in the tutorial?

  • from the description, this is Raspbian only? will this work with Windows IoT Core on RaspberryPi2?

  • NOTE: I figured out my problem. the SSID is case sensitive. I feel stupid after spending 2 days pouting about this :)

  • I am having the toughest time trying to get my ESP8266 Thing to connect to my wifi network. I can easily create a wifi hotspot with it. but, I cant connect to any of my wifi routers (I have tried several)

It seems to get stuck here: while (WiFi.status() != WL_CONNECTED)

Are there any limitations to types of wife security I can connect to?

  • I was just wondering, besides "wanting" to go open source. Was there other reasons why open source was the choice? Price, changeability, etc.? Just wondering. If it is the ability to change, do you think that you would ever have to change source if you choose a solution like Oracle or MSSQL? Just wondering. as someone who has done a lot of programming in MSSQL and Oracle, I have never really seen a reason to extend the DB for even some of the most complex operations (they are pretty extendable through stored procs, functions, etc.).

just wondering. don't hate me because I make a living off of non-open source :-)

  • good to know. I like the size of this display. but, if I do a clock, I think I will have to go for the 7-segment. so far, this display is pretty nice (even without colon, apostrophe, alarm, etc) will be a great counter for climate monitors on kegerators, etc.

  • Call me crazy, but shouldn't these have the colon and apostrophe? Just got a blue and all I see are the decimals for digit 0,1,2,3. I don't see the colon that would normally be between digit 1 and 2. and I don't see the apostrophe between digit 2 and 3. the docs mention apostrophe and colon control (colon control sounds funny). but, I don't see the LED's on the display. A pic of my display is here: http://research.catalinatechnology.com/Lists/Photos/WP_20131104_003.jpg

I am not so worried about it for the project that I am working on since I am just using this to display a number. but, if I wanted it for a clock, the colon would be handy.

  • I am trying to get this to work on a Fez Panda. The lights dont light up when I connect it to the panda. They are fine with an arduino. Is there some type of power issue that I might need ot deal with?

  • anyone weather proof one of these to be used as collision avoidance for a car/truck?

  • great tutorial. anyone do this on the Fez Panda or Netuino?

No public wish lists :(
