You have to use the GPIO pins on the Pi.
I connected mine as follows:
VCC to 3.3v, OUT to GPIO18 and GND to GND with a 160ohm pull-up resistor on the VCC.
Then I used LIRC to setup the remotes / read the codes. There are many guides online on this. Hope this helps.
