  • Nate, thank you for the insight. It was very interesting indeed. Will share your IT infrastructure plans as well? It's interesting how you integrated present ideas with future possible expansion.

  • Hey guys! This was a rather unexpected retirement of the product. I am glad that I managed to get one for myself. Now I am starting to wonder what to do with the only strip I have, since I had so many ideas for a project.

Any hints on why you have killed the product off? Is there going to be a replacement? A new Version?

  • Got them in the mail a couple of weeks ago. First impression: very sturdy action and soft, comfortable and grippy handle. Good quality rubber. Did a first crimping job today on crimp pins. Result - perfect! Very quick and precise.

5 out of 5. "Made in Japan" still means something today.

BTW: Looked for a similar tool in the Knipex lineup. Found only a combination of a tool and a special attachment for different pins. Very versatile, but the price for the 2 added up to nearly $600.

  • Wear a hat to work day at Sparkfun. Two conditions. It must be silly and something must stick out of it. Our runners up are the single horn cow helmet and a checkered cap. The winner is the knob wooly hat on Nat.

  • Simple, inexpensive, mass-produceable, useful, innovative and effective.
    The best!
