I was planning on using it for a camera gimbal, but eventually decided that a brushless motor would work better. Thanks!

Sorry, I never actually ended up completing my project as it proved too costly. I’d recommend googling around, there are a lot of good sources on the internet. Good luck!

I’m looking into different stepper motors for use on a quadrotor, and weight is an issue. How much does this weigh? I can’t seem to find the weight anywhere on the datasheet…

I know this has been asked before, but do the two ground/case pins need to be connected to ground? Also, why is the 16Mhz crystal $1.50 while all the others are only $0.95? Thanks.

Wow, this is great. I read this post two hours ago, when only around $2000 had been raised, and since this post that number has skyrocketed, now at $4635. Awesome promotion Sparkfun, and great job Sylvia!

    Thank you very much!

That’s about ten times as long as I need, thanks! Though, one other thought: are the board traces beefy enough to handle an amp? Thanks again!

If I were to use a much higher power inverter (capable of driving ~50-200 ft of wire) with the EL Escudo Dos, how much wire would I be able to drive from each channel? I have an application that requires 5 channels with around 30 feet of EL wire per channel, would I be able to use the EL Escudo? If not, is there some other solution? Thank you, and keep up the great work!

Is the green-wire fix on the production model?
