  • I think if you use it as a high-side, you’ll end up getting latching like a thyristor…. you cant turn it off.

  • I dont think you can use these as a high-side switch. If the load is any bit reactive, you’ll have latching problems…I think… most chips that are high side are marketed as exclusively high-side

  • Good designs do not fail from anything but solar flares, EMP, or manufacturing defects. If you do it right on paper the first time you never need to waste hardware. Anyone who claims to have learned something from magical blue smoke should have read the manual a bit better. Roasting marshmallows above burning epoxy-glass is not healthy either.

  • I dont see how breaking equipment is “fun”…it only makes me feel like “what a waste of money”… but I guess you can afford to be wasteful. “First-Time Success” is my idea of fun.

  • Preemption device frequency 14.035 +/- .003 Hz secret … civil engineer says “dont tell anyone”.

  • You can always parallel power supplies, aka “gang” power supplies, unless they are unrighteously inductive and cause each other to resonate. The output diode, present on most of these charge pumps, should take care of that.
    POLOLU’s tunable 2.5 to 9v reg pulls 1.5mA thru 1Mohm, 1.575 through 320Kohm. Testing this specific model now.
