  • It's not on the datasheet, but this requires a start up current of ~1A. From the manufacturer:

    Like all boost circuits, it needs a start up current of approximately 1A for a very short period of time. Battery can do that easily, otherwise you need a better power supply. Your power supply of 50mA can't provide the start up current to boost strap the booster.

    I was confused why it was only outputting ~2V when I gave it 3.3V from my Uno, this is why.
