  • Just hooked this thing up. Took only a couple minutes, and works great. For those who dont think its accurate enough, it comes defaulted at 12 bit resolution which equates to 0.0625°C increments. You can blow on the thing and watch the temp change. I'm going to be using it in my saltwater tank shortly, I'll post an update when I do.

  • Refer to OddBots post just a couple posts above this one. It uses an IR receiver. So your range is line of site basically. But I'm sure you could add an Xbee or other transiver to it if you wanted.

  • Forgive my ignorance, buy why would I use this over a shift register?

  • I did some tinkering with this, and from what I figured it would only work behind glass, if its pressed right against it, leaving no gap between the sensor and the glass.
