Just poking a bit of fun, no actual offence taken ;)

Are you trying to make me feel old by saying that Robert? On a friday no less. You’re mean.

Also, that intro always reminds me of the music in Metroid for the NES. Man, NES music was the best.

You know, I have to say that I’m a little disappointed. I looked through all the comments and there’s not even one dick flyer joke. ‘Tis a sad day to be a Sunny fan ;(

It’s kinda funny how you can buy a very competent 7" Android tablet for the same kind of money as one of these displays.

Hah, that spinny thing reminded me of how I used to play when I was a kid. I used a tiny electric motor from some toy, I cut a small paper disk and skewered it onto the axle. I then used pens in different colours to draw patterns :) Man that must’ve been 20-25 years ago now.

Careful Robert, storing stuff in your beard is a slippery slope:

A challenge for next week: Do one episode without mentioning “Arduino”.

I made an Eagle part for this. You can download it here: There’s a couple of other parts in the library, just ignore them, didn’t feel like creating a separate file just for this one part. I’ve verified that the footprint works as I’ve just finished soldering a board using it.

I have to say I’m disappointed in the quality of the switch though. The first few times I used the switch it clicked nicely but very very quickly it lost its “clickyness” and it doesn’t give you any confidence that it’s doing what it’s supposed to. I dunno, maybe I got a bad batch.

I’ve noticed this as well. It seems almost everything new on Sparfun is geared towards the Arduino these days. It would be nice if the PIC (and barebones AVR for that matter) community could get some love as well.

I haven’t handled this particular set but what you describe is the very first thing I thought when I saw it. The price coupled with that super shiny plating always rubs me the wrong way considering my previous experiences.

No public wish lists :(
