Funnily enough, Sparkfun sells a reference volltage supply: https://www.sparkfun.com/products/11078.
Would that work, Byron?

I’d really like to know why this has export restrictions on it - it doesn’t seem to void any Department of Trade rules, and from what I saw on this electronics.stackexchange thread, it shouldn’t be restricted.
Sparkfun, can you give an answer?

IMHO this would work well on a production line, as it would be faster to flash, and then if you have a test jig you just test it as normal, and try reflashing w/ verification if it fails. If it’s still bad after reflashing, then something else is the problem :)
Take a look at the Purpletooth Jamboree schematics: It’s basically a reference design. I found it helpful for figuring out how to do the audio stuff on this chip.
It supports a bunch of other protocols including SPP, and can switch between them easily.
Solder paste and a hot plate/griddle to reflow it. You should check out the SMD soldering tutorials too, you might be able to blob on a bunch of solder and then wick it off with solder wick.

See this examples page, the module has SPP support.
What you need for a good day soldering.
