  • Tutorial - IR Control Kit Quickstart Guide | about a year ago

    I also bought this kit about a week ago and attempted to implement the circuit and code above using the IR Remote included in the kit. This did not work!

    I found a TV remote for a Sony Trinitron and that did in fact work. Perhaps someone at Sparkfun can take a look at the remote control and code to get a working sample. I was quite disappointed to find that the kit I purchased did not work.

    For the IR Remote, I am only receiving LOW values: for(i = 0 ; i < 11 ; i++) { data[i] = pulseIn(irPin, LOW); //Start measuring bits, I only want low pulses Serial.print(data[i]); Serial.print(“, ”); } Serial.println();

    Output after pressing the Power button on the IR Remote from Sparkfun: Reading Key Data 594, 592, 566, 560, 564, 590, 566, 556, 560, 591, 592, Reading Key Data 587, 574, 564, 566, 591, 558, 561, 556, 560, 591, 599, Reading Key Data 547, 544, 539, 540, 541, 537, 502, 508, 536, 510, 528, Reading Key Data 535, 531, 532, 532, 533, 535, 543, 544, 545, 545, 547,

    Output after pressing power button on Sony remote: Reading Key Data 1191, 598, 1216, 592, 1205, 589, 621, 1216, 592, 613, 623, Key Recieved: Power Reading Key Data 1184, 587, 589, 1205, 2392, 1207, 610, 1208, 616, 1215, 620, Key Recieved: 697 Reading Key Data
